While growing up in Manhattan, I spent many weekend horseback riding and hiking in Watchung, NJ, and the Summit area. My mom, who loves her antiques, frequents an antique store in Summit that is right across from a school. There is a rock outside by a flag pole with a beautiful quote on it that I have read many times and has stuck in my mind as a reminder to always live life to the fullest and pursue adventure. Pictured above, it says:
“The life you lead is defined by the quality of your journey. Live an adventure. Explore the frontiers of your being. See what is good and best in all things.” – David B. Brady
The quote has been there for years, and one day I decided to google this David Brady to see who he was, figuring I would find a motivational speaker of some sort. Instead, I found out he was the father of four children in Summit, and he passed away in the World Trade Center attacks on September 11th, 2001.
I think his words are beautiful and worth sharing with the world. The message is simple and clear, and they are most definitely words to live by!
